Guess Where The Lunch Was?

Whistler Chamber of Commerce pulled off an incredible welcome back after the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games, by arranging the Chamber lunch at Araxi in Whistler’s Village Square… Now don’t get me wrong the Chamber luncheon always promises to entertain with their varied speakers, but this lunch draw was sugar-coated by the venue….the business community of Whistler really was in for a treat. How absolutely fitting to host the lunch at Whistler’s Business Person of the Years restaurant – Jack Evrensel

The Speaker

Sheree Johnson from Story Tellings Consulting challenged Whistler’s businesses to think about how they are relevant today and emotionally connecting with their customers and employees.  She brought to light how successful companies discover their compelling story and reinforce that story through every customer touchpoint. You, your company, and your Brand – Is it sticky??? The other great concept with the Chamber lunches is Networking… I love seeing everyone out mingling and sharing their own stories.

The Room at Araxi

The room was stunning and fully dressed for our arrival, the staff was waiting pleasantly at the entrance to say hello and welcome us to Araxi’s… During the day Araxi is bright with all the windows that run along the entire restaurant, and really very colorful with its lightly colored walls, white table clothes, scattered stands adorned with large bottles of wine, decanters, & pottery of “Vincent Massey”

The Lunch

The appetizer – North Arm Farm Beet Salad with Okanagan goat’s cheese, haricots verts and truffle dressing. Main course was a choice of Roasted Canada Prime Beef Fillet – Across the Creek Potato puree, Vichy carrots and sauce diable (this was what I had – recommended by our server) Also available and looking delicious was a Garlic Crusted BC Halibut – Pemberton sunchokes, BC bok choy and sesame vinaigrette

The pictures taken with my I-Phone do little justice to this beautiful food.

Dessert – oh my goodness this was the bomb – Okanagan Apple Cheesecake + Chocolate Tart – almond streusel, dulce de leche and amerena cherries – I swear I couldn’t believe how incredibly addictive the cherries were; this lunch was so incredible. To finish we ordered afternoon coffee, latte or tea…Perfect – Don’t you wish you were there! Araxi Cook Book Video Araxi Photo Gallery

Araxi restaurant deserves a full-blown blog on its award winning dinning, wines, cookbook, and of course Hells Kitchen….

The staff are phenomenal, the service some of the best I’ve ever experienced, every plate removed in a fine dance, our water always filled, complete professionalism… The luncheon a huge success…

Don’t forget to checkout:

Until next time Bon Appetite…Cheers!     [tweetmeme source=whistlerheather only_single=false]
